about how to use Moodle in New Zealand.

Moodle is an online Learning Mangement System or LMS. It is also known as a Virtual Learning Environment or VLE.

Moodle is the fastest growing system for delivering educational and training material online. It's success comes from the collaborative effort of thousands of people worldwide. This site has collected resources from around the world, and we have added some of our own, to make it easy for you to come to become competent in delivering e-Learning courses with Moodle.


To start you off, here is a short video about Moodle, that uses the modularity of Lego to explain it's functionality.

  • This course will teach you how to use our Moodle Sandpits.

  • This course will familiarise new users with what Moodle does, what it looks like, what are it's main features, and how they may use it to their benefit.

  • This course was developed at Dublin University, and provides excellent instruction for Teachers and Trainers in using the various modules and activities that can be found in Moodle.

  • In a talk I gave at the 2005 Moot in New Zealand, I listed the Ten Critical Success Factors for implementing Moodle. The last point stated that FUN + PLAY = LEARNING. This course outlines how this can be achieved.

Learn how to use Moodle at the moodle school.nz website. This website provides teachers and course creators with a resource of articles, ideas, tips and tricks for using Moodle in their various areas of endeavour.
